The same product, your documents

There is no industry edition and no per-sector pricing. What differs is the material you already have and the questions your customers already ask — so here is what that looks like in four of them.

01

Ecommerce and retail

Most of the queue is four questions asked in twenty ways, and every one of them is already answered on a page nobody reads.

What you upload

  • Shipping and returns policy
  • Size and fit guides
  • Product specifications
  • Warranty terms

What it answers

  • “Where is my order?”
  • “Does this ship to Ireland?”
  • “Can I return it after 30 days?”
  • “Is this in stock in medium?”

Worth knowing. Order status needs your own system. The bot answers policy and product questions from your documents, and hands over anything that needs a live lookup.

02

Hosting and infrastructure

Specifications, locations and upgrade paths — dense, precise, and the questions are almost always about a detail buried three pages into a spec sheet.

What you upload

  • Plan and pricing sheets
  • Datacentre locations
  • Upgrade and add-on pricing
  • SLA and network policy

What it answers

  • “Do you have 32GB in Stockholm?”
  • “What does the SSD upgrade cost?”
  • “Which locations have 10G ports?”
  • “What is the bandwidth cap?”

Worth knowing. Exactly the shape of question retrieval is good at: the answer exists in one row of one table, and finding it by hand takes a customer four minutes.

03

SaaS and software

Documentation is written once and asked about forever. The bot reads what you have already published and stops the same three onboarding questions reaching a person.

What you upload

  • Product documentation
  • API reference
  • Changelog and release notes
  • Billing and plan terms

What it answers

  • “How do I invite a teammate?”
  • “Is SSO on the Pro plan?”
  • “What changed in the last release?”
  • “Can I export my data?”

Worth knowing. Point it at your docs site and it reads the pages directly — there is nothing to copy across, and re-reading after a release takes a click.

04

Agencies and professional services

Every client site needs the same thing, and none of them justifies its own support hire.

What you upload

  • Client service descriptions
  • Rate cards and scope
  • Onboarding packs
  • Terms of engagement

What it answers

  • “What does that package include?”
  • “How long does onboarding take?”
  • “Do you work with clients in my sector?”
  • “What are your rates?”

Worth knowing. A bot per client, each with its own documents, persona and widget key — on one account, under one bill.

Not on this list?

The test is the same whatever you sell: upload your documents and see whether it answers your customers. That takes an afternoon and costs nothing.
